Vodafone KK considers MVNO business

In a bid to turn around its flailing business, Japan’s third largest mobile operator Vodafone KK has revealed that it is considering opening up its network to new mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). Other options being examined include the trial ofother access technologies including Wi-Max.

In a further announcement, Vodafone KK said it would be cmodifying its business plan to focus more on the 17 – late 20s age group which it believes will be quieter to adopt innovative services such as 3G. The cellco hopes that this will help it to regain its competitiveness in the sector.
