Private telcos take 43% of market

Private telecoms operators in India accounted for 43% of total revenues in the sector during the financial year to the end of March 2005, according to a survey carried out by communications industry magazine Voice and Data. The survey found that state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) occupied the top slot with revenues of INR363 billion, followed by Bharti with INR80.4 billion.
