6 Jul 2005

BT has said that Cardiff, Wales will be the first UK city to be migrated to its GBP10 billion (USD19 million) 21st Century Network (21CN), sometime before the end of the year. The fixed lines of around 350,000 Cardiff customers will be transferred from the traditional PSTN to 21CN infrastructure, including users served by rival service providers. Providing feedback is positive, BT intends to begin mass migration of users to the IP network in 2006.
