New beat for mobile market

The Chinese mobile music market is set to take off in a big way according to local press reports. Asia Pulse says that both domestic and overseas manufacturers are beginning to push mobile handsets with in-built MP3 players. It quotes Huang Zhongtian, general manager of local manufacturer Konka, who forecasts that MP3 features “are likely to become the standard configuration of entertainment mobile phones in the second half of 2005”. Meanwhile, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola and SonyEricsson have all introduced handsets in China which include music players.
