Zagreb to get IP broadband network

Alternative telecoms provider and retailer Retel has contracted Malaysian vendor Arbital Communications to deploy a next-generation mobile broadband service in the Croatian capital of Zagreb, using Flarion Technologies’ FLASH-OFDM technology. The deal, thought to be worth around USD40 million, will see Arbital deliver a complete IP broadband network in the city, offering high speed mobile communications services at up to 1Mbps. The network is due to be operational before the end of the year.
