Paraguay’s telecoms regulator Conatel has authorised state-run fixed line incumbent Copaco to increase its mobile-to-fixed interconnection fees by 54%, but wants the country’s cellcos to reduce their charges, according to BNamericas. With mobile users now outnumbering fixed line connections the regulator says that it needs to balance interconnection fees by reducing mobile-to-mobile rates by 21% and mobile-to-fixed prices by 3%.
