Partner claims 35,000 3G customers

28 Jun 2005

Israeli cellco Partner Communications (Orange), has revealed that it has signed up 35,000 customers to its 3G network since its launch in December. The company hopes that the addition of three new 3G handsets to the portfolio will stimulate more demand this summer, although local analysts claim the new handsets are too expensive to have a dramatic effect on take-up. Partner’s 3G customer base compares to that of Cellcom, the market leader with a reported 40,000 users, and Pelephone with 20,000.
