24 Jun 2005

Colombian ISP Coldecon has obtained approval from the regulator to acquire rivals Telesat and Andinet, creating the country’s largest ISP, according to BNamericas. The new company, to operate under the Telesat name, currently has over 10% of the internet market and aims to boost this to 40% within three years through a strategy which focuses on the dial-up market. It also plans to invest USD5 million this year in deploying a WiMax network.
