Vodafone offers 3G under ground

Vodafone Sweden now offers its 3G mobile service on the Stockholm underground, in collaboration with Stockholm Transport. The cellco, which has offered 2G services on the rail network since 2000, has 3G coverage of 130km of track covering 59 underground stations. Vodafone launched a commercial service in June 2004 over infrastructure co-owned with rival Hi3G and the service currently covers around 85% of the population.
