Qatarnet expects 3G before year end

Qatar’s monopoly cellco Qatarnet says that commercial 3G services could be available to consumers by the end of the year. Dr Nasser Marafih, CEO of Qatarnet’s parent Qatar Telecom, told The Peninsula that the cellco was already trialling UMTS services and expected the technology to be ready in time for a December launch.
