Nokia to start producing handsets in India in a year’s time

Finnish cellular vendor Nokia has said that it plans to start manufacturing mobile phones at its proposed Chennai plant as early as June next year. Nokia has earmarked between USD100 and USD150 million to set up the factory, its tenth global production unit. It is aiming to dominate the local market by offering handsets at low prices made possible through economies of scale.
