Paraguayan cellco Núcleo plans to spend USD10 million on expanding its network coverage to 13 new regions by the end of the year, according to ABC Color Digital. The operator, a subsidiary of Telecom Argentina, spent USD9 million in 2004 on increasing its coverage area by 50% and upgrading its existing infrastructure to be GPRS and EDGE-capable. Paraguay’s mobile operators are all hurriedly improving their networks and services ahead of the November launch of the wireless service of fixed line incumbent Copaco.
