Siemens unveils R&D centre

The German equipment manufacturer Siemens has opened a new CNY300 million software development centre in Hangzhou which will develop 3G data applications and advanced billing systems. A report from China Daily says that Siemens is planning to work closely with local mobile operators and research centres to tailor products for the Chinese market. Siemens recently sold off its mobile handset business and is now focussing its attentions in the cellular sector on the network solutions market.
