WiMAX coming to Austria

Austrian wireless broadband provider WiMAX Telecom has revealed that it plans to invest EUR70 million over the next three years in the rollout of a nationwide WiMAX network. According to Telecompaper, the company is planning to install 60 base stations this year and will concentrate initially on areas which have poor wireline broadband coverage. WiMAX Telecom is hoping to have networks covering 70% of the population by 2008.
