UTE threatens NTGL with legal action

15 Jun 2005

The Universal Telephone Exchange (UTE) has threatened to launch a law suit against the National Transition Government of Liberia (NTGL) for failing to officially award it its stake in Liberia Telecommunication Corporation (LTC). UTE was declared the winner of the privatisation in February, but the government has failed to approve this amid rumours that UTE might not be able to afford the promised USD170 million investment in the telco.
