Telemig gains 3% market share

Brazilian cellco Telemig Celular has revealed that it has a market share of 3% in the Minas Gerais Triangle – the central-west of the state – after just two weeks of launching operations there. The company rolled out its network, which includes EDGE technology allowing data transmission rates of 80-237 kbps, in the region in late May, and competes with CTBC Telecom, which claimed 40% of the market before Telemig’s arrival, Oi, with 30% and TIM, also with 30%.
