Croatia’s assistant telecoms minister Darko Dvornik has said that the government is looking to encourage new entrants into the country’s fixed line market by focusing on promoting competition in the broadband market. Speaking at an IT conference in Opatija, Dvornik said that his ministry plans to approve the installation of a wireless broadband network as an alternative to incumbent T-HT’s fixed line infrastructure within the next three months, paving the way for new operators to enter the sector. The ministry also expects to receive the results of its wide-ranging broadband development study by the autumn, he added.
