UUNet to spend KES160 million on rollout

Internet gateway company UUNet Communications, a subsidiary of UUNet Kenya, has announced plans to roll out services this month at an initial cost of KES160 million. The company hopes to begin the launch within the next few days, with the activation of its Nairobi earth station planned to take place in July. According to the general manager, Robert Kariuki, the company may also install a node in western Kenya, depending on the demand.
