TelstraClear, the New Zealand division of Australia’s Telstra Corp, is set to invest AUD150 million on the construction of a 3G mobile network in the city of Auckland. A report by The Australian newspaper, which cites an unnamed source, says Telstra has already signed the equipment contract with its infrastructure partner Ericsson. The story suggests that TelstraClear will not build a full national 3G network in New Zealand as regulations permit network sharing to reach 10% of the population.
