British Bulldog one-two… erm… eight

3 Jun 2005

Bulldog Communications – the broadband provider acquired by Cable & Wireless (C&W) in May 2004 – yesterday launched the UK’s first 8Mbps consumer internet package. Bulldog is offering the service, which is available to around a third of UK homes, to new customers for the same price as its existing 4Mbps service at GBP15.50 a month, with a free modem and the first month’s rental for GBP1. Existing 4Mbps customers will receive a free upgrade. C&W plans to double the number of BT exchanges in which Bulldog has equipment to approximately 800 by June 2006, and expects the company to make an additional GBP250 million in sales within four years.
