VAS provider Linktone reports strong 1Q on back of 2.5G sales

24 May 2005

Chinese value added services (VAS) provider Linktone posted net profits of USD3.2 million for the first quarter of 2005, up from USD2.8 million a year ago, on the back of rising sales of its 2.5G wireless services. The NASDAQ-listed firm reported a 61.4% year-on-year rise in revenues to USD15.1 million thanks to strong demand from ‘audio-related services and renewed demand for SMS, both of which grew sequentially for the first time since the second quarter of last year’.
