Oi wants 65,000 broadband users by end year

Internet service provider Oi Internet, which is due to launch its broadband service in June, has announced plans to sign up 65,000 users by the end of 2005. Oi Internet launched a dial-up service in February, and has already managed to sign up 600,000 subscribers. The broadband offering will be rolled out initially in Sao Paulo and region II, which includes the federal district of Brasilia, Curitiba and Porto Alegre. The first 50,000 subscribers will receive three months of free access.
