Celtel to expand coverage

20 May 2005

Celtel Kenya has revealed plans to extend its coverage to 50 rural towns across the country, raising its total reach to around 160 areas. The company has been looking to strengthen its position in the market for several years, and has decided to focus on rural markets that are often ignored by other operators because of the high costs associated with rolling out services.

Meanwhile Nokia has launched a series of new multimedia Nseries handsets in the Kenyan market, including the N70, N90 and N91 phones.
