BSNL announces its highest ever cut in international call rates

18 May 2005

In its highest ever cut in international call charges, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) yesterday announced a 33% reduction in tariffs for calls to a list of regions, including Australasia, Africa and the Gulf, and countries within the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The reduced rates, which come into effect on 21 May, will apply to fixed line, CDMA and GSM BSNL subscribers. The company says that it is confident the tariff cut will boost turnover through increased call minutes.
