Siemens to exit Australia

17 May 2005

Equipment supplier Siemens has revealed that it will be exiting the Australian mobile market, after admitting that it had been experiencing problems at its local mobile devices business for several months. The parent company said it has ‘exhausted every avenue’ trying to find a business model for the Australian unit, and will cease market and sales activities from 30 September this year. All customer arrangements including service and support will continue, and the move will only affect between five and 15 employees.
