Public upset with Telstra Mobile towers

Telstra is expected to face 1,000 protesters led by Anti-mobile tower activist group Tower Sanity, which wants the operator to abandon its plans to build 3G transmission towers in Leichhardt and Hurlstone Park in Sydney’s inner-west. The protesters are concerned that people near the sites could suffer ill health as a result of radiation from the masts, although Telstra contends that they will actually generate less man made radiation than the telecoms equipment currently in place already.
