Mobile users reach 70.79 million

According to data released by regulator Anatel, there were 70.79 million mobile phone users in Brazil at the end of April, up from 68.6 million a month earlier. The mobile customer base has grown by 3.03 million in the first four months of the year, taking the penetration rate to 38.6%. By region, the north had a penetration rate of 28.6%, the Northeast 23.3%, the Southeast 43.9%, the South 48.8% and the centre-west 56.7%.
