Telkom sale to take place in 2006

16 May 2005

According to government officials, the privatisation of Telkom Kenya will take around a year to complete, with June 2006 being scheduled as the deadline for the sale to have taken place. The state, which has been looking to sell its stake in the company since 2001, has hired consultants PKF Consulting to advise on the process. It initially expected the privatisation to take place by the end of this year, but has now said this is unrealistic.
