Colombia Telecom expands local telephony and broadband services

Colombia Telecom has revealed extensive investment plans for the remainder of the year to expand its local telephony and internet infrastructure. In the Sucre area alone, it plans to spend COP4.5 billion (USD1.92 million), including COP1.6 billion earmarked for a project to improve broadband access in the city of Sincelejo. In August it plans to spend COP2 billion installing 5,000 new lines at the port of Buenaventura, and also intends to roll out 6,000 lines in rural areas in the Córdoba region.
