DoCoMo adds most subscribers

NTT DoCoMo has reported the largest net increase in subscriptions in Japan during April. The cellco added a net 250,700 2G users in April, to take its total to around 49.1 million. DoCoMo also added 739,200 users to its 3G FOMA network, taking the total for that service to 12.1 million at the end of the month. KDDI Corp’s au arm added 238,100 users to lift its total customer base to 19.78 million; 18.2 million were 3G subscribers, up 313,400 in the month. The number three operator Vodafone KK saw its customer base decline during the month, to around 15 million, although its 3G base grew by around 141,300 to 1.1 million.
