The head of the Bolivian telecoms regulator Sittel has said the country’s telecoms sector can expect private sector investments of around USD100 million in 2005. José Morales told BNamericas that he expects the country to be home to two million mobile users by the end of next year, but he did not elaborate on whether new licences would be awarded. Bolivia’s three existing cellular operators – Entel Móvil, Telecel and Nuevatel – had around 1.8 million cellular subscribers between them at the end of March.
