FALCON flying high in Saudi

9 May 2005

The Integrated Telecom Company (ITC) of Saudi Arabia has signed a multi-million dollar contract to provide full landing stations in Jeddah and Dammam for FLAG Telecom’s FALCON cable system. The deal also includes the acquisition of capacity on the new 1Tbps cable system. FALCON is a new high capacity resilient loop cable system that is being installed to provide landing points across the Gulf region; similar deals have been struck with Bahrain, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. The new network will support advanced broadband services and afford direct access to international networks along the Kingdom’s east coast.
