Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has released a preliminary date for its planned initial public offering (IPO) of 24 May 2005. The government is expected to divest a 30% stake in the telco (or 225 million of a total 750 million shares), raising an estimated OMR292.5 million (USD759.8 million) in the process.
