Digicel to file lawsuit against Cel*Star?

Irish-owned telco Digicel, which is looking to enter the Guyanan mobile market, has threatened to file a lawsuit against Cel*Star, a rival firm already operating in the country. The claim would be a follow up to a USD30 million lawsuit that Cel*Star made against Digicel last year, which alleged that Digicel had hired some of Cel*Star’s senior employees in order to obtain sensitive competitive information. Digicel denies the accusations, claiming that Cal*Star is simply trying to slow down its entry into the market.
