22 Apr 2005

Telenor Satellite Services has been chosen by the mobile satellite operator Inmarsat as the international distributor for Inmarsat’s new Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service. BGAN, which is due for commercial launch later this year, offers voice telephony plus high speed circuit switched and packet data services to mobile satellite users. Services will be carried via the new Inmarsat 4 generation of satellites, the first of which was launched last month, and a new range of small, lightweight handsets will be introduced.
