Japan Telecom has signed an expansion deal with solutions provider UTStarcom for the development of several million lines equipped with UTStarcom’s iAN-8000 Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN) solution. The deployment comes as part of Japan Telecom’s build out of a next-generation fixed line network running from Hokkaido in the north of the country to Kyusghu in the south. The iAN-8000 solution will enable the telco to offer voice, high-speed data and Television-over-IP (TVoIP) services to its customers.
