Fourth mobile licence earmarked for state-run telco

The Colombian government is planning to award the country’s fourth mobile licence to state-owned fixed line operator Colombia Telecom, according to BNamericas. The Communications Ministry will start the licensing process with a feasibility study to determine whether the introduction of a new wireless operator is viable. Telecom says it is exploring its options and expects to decide on a strategy for entering the mobile market by the end of the year.
