Pacifictel incensed over Andinatel’s USD27 million in late payments

19 Apr 2005

State-run fixed line operator Pacifictel is insisting that its sister firm Andinatel pays it the USD27 million it owes for outstanding interconnection fees accrued over a six-year period. Pacifictel is struggling with its own debt levels and recently relinquished its 50% share in mobile joint venture Telecsa to Andinatel, after it failed to come up with the USD31.5 million initial capital sum agreed as part of the deal. However, it is now looking to its sister company to pay it the outstanding monies owed.
