Tele2 inks MVNO deal in France

14 Apr 2005

Pan-European telco Tele2 has signed a wholesale mobile agreement with Orange France, allowing it to launch a mobile resale service before the end of the year. The Swedish-owned company did not disclose the financial details of the deal. Orange says the new agreement falls into line with the recently announced goals of the French competition council and the telecoms regulator ART, which are keen to see increased competition in the shape of mobile resellers. As a result of the deal Tele2 has withdrawn its request for ART to step in and help hammer out a wholesale agreement with Orange.
