13 Apr 2005

Polish alternative fixed line operator Netia has submitted an offer for additional mobile frequencies, in conjunction with Novator Telecom Poland, owned by Novator One. The operator joins domestic cellcos Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (PTC) and Polkomtel, which have also submitted bids for the frequencies. The country’s third mobile operator Centertel is undecided on whether to participate, and Tele2 has declined to make an offer. The regulator, URTiP, has set a minimum annual payment of PLN3.96 million (USD1.25 million) for the GSM-1800 spectrum, and PLN1.05 million (USD331,800) for UMTS frequencies.
