12 Apr 2005

Malaysia’s wireless market leader Maxis Mobile said yesterday that it will launch 3G services in the second half of this year. The announcement follows Maxis awarding a contract to Swedish technology provider Ericsson to manage its W-CDMA network for a period of 18 months. Maxis plans to spend between MYR800 million (USD210 million) and MYR1.2 billion (USD315 million) on its 3G rollout by 2006.
