Telefónica serves up McChile Wi-Fries

11 Apr 2005

Chilean fixed line operator Telefónica CTC Chile has introduced Wi-Fi technology to restaurants in the Punta Arenas region via a strategic agreement with fast food chain McDonalds. The service provides wireless broadband access to McDonald’s customers using any portable device that has Wi-Fi capability. The move forms part of CTC’s shift in focus towards the broadband arena, as it continues to invest heavily in its ‘Speedy’ branded ADSL offering. The company launched Wi-Fi in August 2003.
