Call for more mobile competition

7 Apr 2005

The French competition watchdog has asked the country’s telecoms regulator ART to open up the mobile market, which is currently dominated by three operators. According to a Dow Jones report, the competition authority has told ART that it sees evidence of collusion between the three cellular licensees, Orange, SFR and Bouygues, especially in the wholesale sector. It says this is hampering the market for resale operators and inflating end-user prices.
