According to Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, internet services in the country will receive a significant boost over the next three years, with coverage set to increase from just a handful of users to the entire country. There are currently around 30,000 internet lines in service, and the government plans to increase this figure to 500,000 by October this year; it has already begun laying fibre-optic cables and has invested USD40 million in internet development.
