5 Apr 2005

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commisssion (CRTC) has announced a decision which requires VoIP service providers to provide the same level of emergency 911 services as incumbent telephone companies, within 90 days. In addition the regulator has requested that all VoIP providers give customers notifications of any limitations associated with the 911 service, and secure the customers’ express acknowledgement of the limitation.
