Operators to push home-grown internet standard

A number of South Korean wireless carriers and mobile content providers – including SK Telecom, KTF and LG Telecom – are keen to promote a locally-developed mobile phone internet platform called Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability (WIPI). The regulator the MIC has said it plans to make the use of WIPI technology compulsory in the future.
