Entel’s majority stake sale completed

Chile’s second largest fixed line operator, Entel, reported this week that a deal has been completed giving domestic investment group Almendral a majority stake in the telco. Almendral, through a specially created subsidiary Almendral Telecomunicaciones, has agreed to buy Telecom Italia’s 48.9% stake in Entel for USD834 million, in addition to directly acquiring a further 5.86% with a price tag of USD100 million.
