Carphone launches cut-price mobile service

Carphone Warehouse Group is launching a low-cost mobile service, Mobile World, targeted at the overseas calls market. The pan-European retail chain hopes to grab customers from rivals in the calling card market by offering up to 98% cheaper tariffs on overseas calls compared with other mobile operators. Earlier this month Carphone Warehouse joined a price war in the UK pre-pay mobile market when it slashed 50% off the cost of calls on its service Fresh.
