Rural internet access on the way

29 Mar 2005

Telecoms regulator Sittel has announced plans to build 38 new public internet access centres in Bolivia’s underserved rural regions as part of a USD300,000 United Nations-backed programme to encourage IT use among local organised social groups. The first phase of roll out will include a pilot centre in La Paz, with five others to be built at as-yet undecided rural locations.
