Kenyan cellco Safaricom has pledged to spend KEN2 billion on the upgrade of its network in Nairobi. The expansion will involve the set up of 94 extra base station transmitters in the capital, which will help to ease congestion within the city’s central business district. The initiative is part of Safaricom’s wider plan to upgrade and expand its network across the country.
